The Vault of Larin Karr! -- The Chamber of Many Caskets

Kerlan leads the way into the Very Secret Passageway behind the Very Secret Door. Soon after entering the passageway, you notice that the ceiling is growing progressively lower as you continue forward. By the time you reach the point where the passageway angles to the southwest, it is only 5 feet above the floor. This is a bit of an inconvenience for some of you, but Tylara and Francheska have little difficulty with it, and Manny is positively oblivious to it. The room at the end of the passageway also has a 5-ft ceiling and is cool and musty-smelling. The chamber contains ten closed wooden caskets, each of which rests on a 2-foot-high stone block.

OOC: I recently noticed that I've erred in the maps of the "vault" portion of the map -- the relationships are right but I haven't converted the scale to 5'/square. I keep meaning to begin using the correct scale, but I've kept forgetting. Doesn't really matter now, so i'll continue as before, but if I have to do extensive re-mapping later on you'll know why.

The Vault of Larin Karr! -- The Chamber of Many Caskets

The first casket opened (#5) contains a humanoid skeleton, most likely a Drow Elf, according to Francheska (looking over Kerlan's shoulder), from its size and the shape of its skull. The skeleton rests on a bed of loosely packed earth.

Without turning towards her, Kerlan gets a confused look on his face. "Did she just say ... nevermind." Kerlan shakes the thought from his head. "It is rather strange. Maybe it's to cover something up." Kerlan takes a closer look, seeing if anything is under the dirt.

"The earth and talk of vampires makes me wonder. What hour of the day, or night is is?" With a shrug she take one of her arrows and stabs it through the ribcage of the skeleton and into the earth below such that the wooden arrow shaft neatly crosses the space where the heart should be.
