Leisure Games & Siege of Durgam's Folly - Spoilers

S'mon

Legend
My copy of Necromancer Games 3e scenario Siege of Durgam's Folly arrived in the post from Leisure Games a moment ago - the very day after they got my order! If you live in the UK especially, I can't recommend them highly enough as a retailer. They don't discount products but their p&p rates are very reasonable and their service is consistently excellent, absolutely first class.

Re Durgam's Folly, anyone have particular advice/experiences to offer re running it?

Yep, when my FLGS hasn't got something, ot when I acn't get in to them, I've long used Lesiure Games, and they have always given excellent service. I particularly like the fact that they are knowledgeable too, so a phone call or e-mail can answer any queries you have.

I tend to go there rather than use mail order as Finchley is pretty easy for me on the Tube. Definitely recommend them for quality of service and knowledge of product.

Hi Dave - do you have Durgam's BTW? On my recent buying spree* I ordered it, Assault on Blacktooth Ridge (arrived yesterday) & Vault of Larin Karr. Durgam's looks excellent on a brief once-over, great art, layout, oozes (scary) atmosphere. I'm looking for something to run after or even during Lost City of Barakus campaign, probably with the same PCs.

*Prompted by realisation that I was unlikely to be running Hall of Many Panes in the near-mid future.

I ran my players through it "as is" and they had a blast. :D

The final encounter is very difficult. I'll spoiler it below for anyone interested.

[sblock]The final encounter is against what is basically a brain in a box. It is controlling a huge, stone golem. The golem is nigh-invulnerable and it takes some thinking on the part of the PCs to win. Basically, they can try to take down the stone golem but, as my players did, they can try to get past it and go into the room with the brain in the box. Smashing the box will stop the golem. The final scene ended with 3 of the 5 players in the room with the brain, with all 3 down to single digit HP. One of the PC ended up smashing the box and, since the stone golem went next, it's fist were coming down to finish the PC when it just stopped because it was no longer in control. It was a great fight but could have been very lethal if the players had just tried to just kill the stone golem outright.[/sblock]

No I don't have any of those modules - the only Necro ones I have are Grey Citadel and Morrick Mansion and I've played through Wizards Amulet/Crucible of Freya.

Cool - I've heard nearly all good things about it (except the GM on Nec boards who didn't know how AoOs worked and had a Large (half-ogre) PC armed with spiked chain getting 3 AoOs on every approaching enemy... ) - but opinion is mostly subjective of course; different module styles fit different players. Durgams appears to fit me _perfectly_. It's far too tough for my group at present but should make an excellent & not-too-long adventure for them at some stage.

With your PC's making a good rep with the events of LCoB you will definitely have legitimate reasons for a Endhome official to ask them to look into events occuring at one of their outposts.

That's basically what I'm thinking (actually, slightly different, but I don't want to Spoilerise my player MonsterMash) :)
