Ten years ago, just for fun, I started creating a world and testing it with various groups of friends, often without telling them to observe their unfiltered reactions. Sometimes I would even pretend it came from old rulebooks to avoid making them feel obligated to be nice.
About a year ago, I decided to publish my game. After a Kickstarter campaign, I realized my game was too large for a physical book (over 300 pages just for the core rulebook). Publishing a book of this size would be expensive (around $80 plus shipping), not to mention the bestiary and other supplements. This would be an investment of $200 to $300, which is out of reach for many.
So, I decided to offer my books as web books. Like you, I’m not a millionaire, and I wanted to provide an affordable alternative. I started by publishing the rulebook and a supplement that includes a mini bestiary, equipment, and texts to help better understand the rich universe. A full bestiary and additional supplements and adventures will be released soon. All products will be priced at $20 or less, as I want to offer an alternative to the big names in the industry, with the added benefit that you can directly influence the content with your feedback and ideas.
So, I’ve decided to sell both books for just $20, in both French and English (both languages are included). I believe it’s a fair and affordable price. Nowadays, even a meal at a diner often costs more. My goal isn’t to get rich, but to offer an alternative to the big RPG companies, with just as much content.
I hope many of you will support me. If you have any comments, feel free to visit the game’s Facebook page; I respond to everyone who reaches out. And while you’re there, subscribe to the page—it’s another way to support me as well.
