Still probably not a majority of games using it though.
I don't think anyone has any hard data on that. I guess it depends on what you mean by "using it." One character using a single spell or feat from Tasha's? Probably. Every single character in the game using only the subclasses, spells, and feats from Tasha's? Probably not.

I think it's safe to say the majority of games would be somewhere between those two extremes, but that's just my own assumption. I'd love to see real numbers on this, if only to see how it compares to MMotM and XGtE. Going by sales alone, it's safe to say that Tasha's is somewhere between the two.

Bookscan ga e some numbers and ssmple size let's is make some guess.

PHB has sold a lot more so it's unlikely majority of tables have access to a copy. That's before are we using it comes into the equation.

I think a lot of tables just use the PH.

I voted no. "5.24" seems unintuitive to me, since a year reference isn't what I think of after a "point" designation (plus, not all of the new Core Rulebooks are coming out in 2024 anyway).

"5.5," by contrast, seems to nicely summarize what this new version is under the community's existing terminology (and there's a case for using "6E" as well, if you look at the overall (lack of) differences between 1E and 2E).

It would be hard to tell if Tasha's is used a lot or not. It seems like the floating ability score is default on Dndbeyond and the spells pop up on the list regardless if you have the book purchased or not. I guess, maybe, I own the book on beyond so it just may appear default to me.

Which is funny considering one of the biggest Tasha's changes, floating ability scores, isn't being carried over to 5.5.
Also prof bonus per day was reconsidered. I am not too sad that they are not becoming the default.
On the other hand, I hope some customizability for backgrounds is still there. Backgrounds are looking a bit inflexible to me. But lets see.

Yeah. After all it comes down to ease of use.
For me 5.24, 5.25 (when all core books are published), 5.5, 5.50 or 6e all have pros and cons.

Let's see what sticks.
