Over the last week or so, WotC has pushed out a bunch of Planescape promotional videos. Here's a quick recap.
Though not one to one, many of their articles do cover some of what the videos presentAs I sit on my porch yelling at kids to stay off my lawn and shaking my fist at clouds, I would also like to say how much I don't like presenting videos for information over a nice written article.
For me it is the least convenient way to present information and I rarely consume it that way. But I'm aging out of the target demographic and I get that.
From a cost perspective I wonder how much producing videos to show for free on YouTube in 2023 costs versus designing and paying for print adds in magazines comics ect did in 1993? Do companies save money or is it just a shift in how it is spent?
Yea, I’d think it’d be out by now.I'm starting to doubt that they'll be releasing a Monstrous Compendium for Planescape, which is odd. There were a few critters from 2e Planescape that I'd love to see given an update, like the bacchae, the keepers, and the formians! They had MCs for Spelljammer, Dragonlance, and even Minecraft, too.
It's a slight shame, as Planescape is one setting that didn't skimp on original ideas for monsters, back in the day.Yea, I’d think it’d be out by now.
Just looked into it, and, yes, the extra Dragonlance monsters were released the day before the actual product release.Spelljammer MC was out well in advance of Spelljammer's release, but I don't think the Dragonlance MC was for the Dragonlance release (or at least, it was much closer to it).
I'm not reading too much into the proximity to Planescape's street date - wouldn't be surprised for a Planescape MC to drop anytime within the next few weeks.
