oh, and while i'm happy for the cards, i do have to say...
the tigers really disappointed me in how they went out like chumps. i mean, the way they annihilated the Yankees and A's to become the AL champs reminded me very much of what a certain team in a certain town did last year, and i was hoping to see a better WS showing from the guys who beat MY team to the playoffs.
BUT, when you lie down and die, committing as many errors and wild pitches as you like, while providing little in the way of offense... your opponents don't even need Albert Pujols to beat your ass.
anyway, enough ranting about the Tigers, congrats again Cardinals! you deserved it, and you earned it!
i hope next year's playoffs/champsionships are as intriguing as this one. as much as i like the white sox, i want to see the cubs finally get what they've been waiting for so long. while i know it has not a shot in hell of happening that way, i'd like to see the losingest teams take the example of the Red Sox and White Sox and say, man, we can do that too! let's see, it would work a little something like this:
AL East: Orioles; AL Central: Indians; AL West: Rangers; AL wildcard: Mariners
NL East: Nationals (aka the ones and former Expos); NL Central: Cubs; NL West: Giants; NL wildcard: Astros
talk about some teams that have been waiting for awhile! that would be even more interesting than this year!
