That's Latin for "cool"
I really like the house rule that when a character attempts a skill in which s/he has zero ranks, the roll is made with a d12.
I use death at -CON, with disabled being from 0 to -CON Modifier. I don't have Unearthed Arcana yet, but I understand it contains something very similar.Nifft said:We had a battle last session with some of Pants' Gereleths -- just awesome -- and I got to play-test my new favorite house rule to great effect:
PCs and Monsters do not die at -10 hp, they die at -(10+HD) hp.
All three Faratsus were reduced to sludge, but got away.

I understand that it's limited to shadowy areas, but I think this might deserve to be 2nd level. Also, is "Shadow" a new kind of damage in your game (or did I just miss it in some other spell description)? I don't remember seeing any critters with DR x/shadow or shadow resistance.
And the spell description says the shadow shoots the ray. Does that mean the attack can come from a direction different than the caster's? If so, I think this should defnitely be higher level.
