Let's run a module: Nominations

I can't join in on the fun for this, so don't count this as a nomination. But it might be interesting for everyone to run the first Age of Worms adventure.

That said, CMG has a few PDFs for the adventures that ENWorld came up with. If ENWorld wrote it, it would be cool to think of what we thought of it. http://www.rpgnow.com/default.php?manufacturers_id=357

They said you were a brilliant, handsome man, and by ye gods it is the truth, sir!

I'd suggest the one that takes place in a sewer/thieves guild. It's 7th-level, which any DM should be able to run, and it's the shortest of the CDs, so it should be doable in a single session. I'd also suggest putting a DMs-Only tag on the subject of this thread and any to follow if anyone is worried about player infiltration.

I agree it should be something short. After all, it's highly unlikely that we'll find something that fits the levels & settings of every participant's ongoing campaigns.

Temple of Mysteries is a neat adventure, and is designed as a one-shot -- but it's a little unusual, too, which might not work so well, based on Crothian's "something easy" principle. I'd vote for it, though.

On that principle, I'll also ignore the 10th+ level adventures (that's the range the PCs in my regular games are, so that would be convenient for me, but not as simple as a lower-level game).

Of the adventures that Psion mentioned, I kind of like Tower in the Ice (for 9th level PCs). However, the terrain (a tower, mostly underwater, in very cold temperatures) might be a problem.

Then suggest something, right now we have mine and Monte's Temple thingy..... ;)

Fine. You already threw up the DCC people are most likely to go for, though if we do this again, I might throw up Bloody Jacks Gold or The Secret of Smuggler's Cove.

But that being the case, I'll suggest:

Glacial Inferno
(7th level adventure, Dungeon #103)

My worry with Dungeon scenerios is how easy it will be for people to get them. I don't get Dungeon and the places around here might still have a dungeon from 5 months ago. Are they availible as a PDF on line or anything like that?

#124 is just now two issues old. It's still in most gaming shops.

For those that can't find it in their FLGS:

http://paizo.com/dungeon/products/issues/2005/v5748btpy7ebk

$8.00 USD

With respect to #103:

http://paizo.com/dungeon/products/issues/2003/v5748btpy72vq

$7.00 USD.

But of any 3rd party 3.5 adventures, Dungeon easily has the highest number of copies printed and, all things being equal, is in the hands of the largest number of ENworlders.

Interestingly, ENworld's sponsor, the RPG Shop has sold out of #124.

As I said - a lot of DMs have it

I agree with your reservations about the Dungeon adventures. It would be better to nominate something folks can get right now easily.

Yeah, that's just it. I figured a lot of people would have Dungeon subscriptions more likely than a given random adventure. At any rate, I am tired of waffling over it. I've made my nomination, every one else can make theirs, and we'll put it to a vote.

There's no way Whispering Cairn can be run in one or two sessions, unless your players level up once every session. WC is meant to advance PCs from 1st level to 3rd. Unless you play only a portion of it, like just the False Tomb area....

I nominate, from Dungeon Issue #121, "The Styes" - a great adventure of 9th level. Here is the blurb on it:

The Styes
by Richard Pett
Once, the Styes was the ocean gateway to a major city, her magnificent buildings crowning a man-made island held aloft on piers and boardwalks. Now, it has grown old and diseased, a perfect haven for sadists, cultists, and hungry things that flop and writhe. A D&D adventure for 9th-level characters.
