Level up my Duskblade

DND is suppose to be as an idea a group of adventurers who are doing the heroic thing to save the princess per se. The advantage over the bad guys is that the party works together to help each other with their limitations.

If the party didn't want him to be a warforged, maybe they should have stated that at character generation. Once they went past that, they have accepted the limitations of his healing IMO.
Humm... So if I play a character that will beat all the baddies as long as the rest of the party sits around and does nothing (but won't work if the party does anything) then they should just do that? The party should work as a group, but not to the point that players are forced to become support characters when that wasn't their intent. Is one spell that big of a deal for a 1st level wizard? I'd say yes.

I don't think the wizards should be expected to be gimped by becoming healers. I agree that this should have been discussed before the game started, but the folks I play with don't normally "veto" other player's characters. Perhaps the OP should have raised the issue with the party before the game started. I'm not blaming him, I'm just saying there is a conflict of expectations and since no one apparently raised the issue as characters were made/selected.

Again, I'll bet this goes away by 3rd level.
