Seems to me that this game would be much more fun to play if we just stripped the capability of advancing any character from the system. That way, everyone is 0 level for the entire adventure. What do you guys think?
It's easily done. Use the zero level alternate rules presented in the DMG, and whenever the PCs gain XP, take it way from them. The PCs will never realize they aren't meant to gain any levels.
As long as you set the game in Bluffside, I'd be in full support of such an idea. Though I doubt few others would be because of the 0 level limit.
This reminds me of a guy I talked to at a con. He had been playing AD&D for a couple of years and he and his group all were still 2nd or 3rd level. He told me that they would do an epic, long adventure or storyline and get maybe 100 xp for it. Apparently it worked rather well, but it came down in flames when a new guy played a psionicist.
