Leveling speed

In my campaign, the group is leveling about once a week, though I'm trying to get them up from the low levels to the mid levels because we have never liked low-level campaigns (1 to about 4). In the other campaign we're doing, we level once every about 3 weeks. I'm thinking about slowing down the leveling in my campaign a little, but I was just wondering how quickly every one elses levels their group (or levels in their group if not the DM).

IMC the PCs level once every 3 to 5 sessions, generally tending towards once every 4 sessions. I try to keep them from leveling up more than 2-3 times for every year that passes in game so that there is some sense of realism (I hate games where the PCs go from 1st to 20th level in one year in game).

I hand out 2/3rds of the normal experience. It has worked well, fast enough to not get stale and slow enough for the characters to use their new found powers (or spells) before leveling up again.

Consider the following modifiers to experience awards:

100%from 1st-5th
75% from 6th-10th
50% from 11th-15th
25% from 16th-20th

IMC, Players level quickly until about level seven or so (unless we start there) and then it starts to even out. My favourite levels to run are levels ten to fifteen, and our campaigns usually putter out around fifteen anyway. So when I'm running, I get them to where _I'm_ most comfortable, then take it from there.
