LEW- with Pathfinder rules??

HolyMan

Thy wounds are healed!
Starting a recuritment drive for players and DMs to help in LEW(3.5).

Players: As a Living World everyone on these boards should be excited to have at least one character playing in LEW. I mean your characters exploits will be remembered by other players and told to still other players as the years go on. "Yeah back in The Last Lady adventure HolyMan had his character jump threw a window and out into the harbor, because he was on fire. That was like two years ago."

Also you can not only adventure but what if your character wanted to be a merchant? or high priest? I'm not sure but it could be possible to retire your character to their chosen fields and let them be NPCed by DM's in a new game you are playing in, giving that character so much more life.

Or what if you found the only Staff of The Magi in all the world won't that be something to brag about to everyone else.

All I'm saying that as a player who wants to role play and watch a character grow in both power and personality there is no better place than in LEW.

DM's: Are your 3.5 books collecting dust? Is there a module you wish you got to play or a monster you wish you got to see in combat, but it never happened. LEW is an outlet for all of those things and more. It's simple you want to run a one-shot, or quick adventure but your current campaign is far from being in a postion to do it. But that DM ith is there (trust me I know) then bring your adventure ideal to LEW and play it out.

O.k. my salesman face is off :p to be serious LEW needs Players and DM's so if you have an ideal on a character or adventure. I'm sure the judges would love to here from you.

Strange idea: i noticed there is , IMHO, currently much more interest here for Pathfinder than for 3.5. Time to convert?

We could keep all the background stuff and just do some rules conversion.

But I honestly don't know who has currently a class/race with no conversion as is still interested in LEW (and playing this character).

Can't imagine except the houseruled classes as it was SRD/core only right? There's a Pathfinder SRD. Maybe the houseruled ones could be tweaked a bit as the PL of some of the classes was changed in PF (looking at you melee types)

Bump

And HolyMan, can you change the thread title to something like 'LEW with pathfinder rules?' or something?

This way, we could get more attention.

Definitely intriguing, although I think I'm firmly in the 4e camp by now. There are a lot of good things about Pathfinder and I hope this helps keep the LEW community alive.

That's the plan renau1g, thanks for the post yes intriguing is a good word to describe this line of thinking.

Question is Pathfinder OGL and can be used in this way?

And if so, and a LEW conversion is not viable what about a new Living World? (LPF?)

Well they have an SRD (or PRD) so as long as it would follow the same as LEW's OGL only policy then that should work.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Reference Document

The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game is released under the Open Game License, meaning the core rules that drive the Pathfinder RPG system are available to anyone to use for free under the terms of the OGL. This compendium of rules, charts, and tables contains all of the open rules in the system, and is provided for the use of the community of gamers and publishers working with the system.

I find the idea of LEW interesting but found that the mass of scattered information just too much and too dispersed for me to want to search for and wade through. And character approval wasn't clearly spelled out at the time (maybe it's better now, I haven't looked in a while). So if a conversion does manage to happen consider a consolidation of information needed for beginners please.

As for a living Pathfinder... I think that would be awesome (especially if it were allowed in Golarion).
