Libris Mortis Excerpts

Dunno. Looks like art to me, and not a photo. Look at the right front paw (from its perspective). Definitely drawn. But the rest looks drawn too...

I was surprised at how good this preview was. Between this and Complete Arcane, I'm hankering for a Redhurst game now.

The Frankenkitty familiar feat also is about the only improved familiar type feat that I've really been impressed with. The rest just went for kewlness. And kewlness is great, but I really can't get excited over, say, a shocker lizard.

And I viewed the Hooded Pupil as the D&D version of a White Wolf ghoul -- a living servant of a powerful undead/vampire who has some supernatural powers but who can still go out and mow the lawn during daylight hours.

I thought that was a picture of a cat I gave my mom a few years back. I had lucked into a Turkish Van (a rare breed of cat that loves water, he even has his own pool) who had a penchant for fighting and possibly entering the catflaps of several houses in her neighborhood due to the sheer number of never healing injuries he had incurred.

The picture looks like a Photoshop paintover and one that lacks the one thing that might have fooled more people, a background. Slap a textured background on this and the eye would have been distracted more.

I actually liked the "hooded pupil" template, although I agree with jester47's interpretation. Also, animated fossils are just plain cool.

Demiurge out.

Animated fossil- Thats looks like fun-

"Wolflike skeletons approach you..."

Player "Heh, just skeletons eh? I get out my mace..."

Of course, a prestige class for such characters might have fit even better.
And then there'd be people complaining that there is no "prestige" in getting enslaved and forced to do someone else's bidding. ;)

I love the Destruction Retribution and Fell Animate feats!

Oh, and I'm glad that finally, WotC gives us a sun-centric divine prestige class. And with the ability to cast Searing Light, no less! It was high time!
