Okay, I figured out how tables work and added one for birth-place. Will add more later.

Good job Nifft! How did you get the nifty table in there?

I don't know if I like that there is a 30% chance the PC will have a weird background - be it raised in another plane or by racially different beings. At the same time, I'm not sure I dislike it. Thoughts, anyone else?

I took out the "farming" besides the hamlet entry, since it could be a fishing hamlet, or mining, etc.

Outcast, I don't see the family tables in there. Did you put them on the Wiki entry?

For anyone else, here is the link .

Edit: OK, I *tried* to edit the hamlet entry. How the crap do you make edits? It seems that simply clicking edit (path of least resistance) simply takes me to a blank page.

Psst... under Family History and Significant Times of Your Life

Well, sure, under the obvious place. You're so tricky... ;)

Okay, my first set of comments is for the Birth Location table.

1) Change the farming hamlet to simply hamlet

2) Make 9 into 10, 10 into 11, and roll 11 and 12 into 12 - Born on outer plane, plane and simple. Then make 9 into "Gypsy, Nomad or Camp Follower" so we have an entry for someone who was born into a family always on the move, not truly in one place.

3) rural hamlet, small village and minor town seemed to run together. Took one out and added slave pit :]

As for the rest, I am going over it slowly. It would be good to have it all in tables like the first section...only if I knew how to do it :heh:

The only thing that I want to explicitly suggest is that this is not representative of the population as a whole, but rather to the population of heroes. So I'd not be too worried about a disproportionately high number of weirdos.

Weirdos are the stuff from which heroes are made. :)

Here is another thought, as I am looking at Outcast's fine work - I don't think we should provide PCs any tangible benefits from this table. In another words, no extra gold, or bonus skill points, or magic weapon, etc. Otherwise the Lifepath becomes subject to being abused. I think we should leave everything in general terms - a financial windfall is just that, and it is assumed that the PC used that money for something. He doesn't actually have it as the game begins.

Just a thought. I am going through and putting everything into tables now, and trying to make everything fit the d12 format. Outcast, I am going to make a few modifications. Please let me know if I overstep myself and we'll change it back or discuss changes.
