Lightning Bolt vs Blade Barrier

The Fireball vs Wind Wall thread reminded me of a ruling I had to make once. If a Lightning Bolt passes through a Blade Barrier, is it affected in any way? Seems pretty straightforward to me, but my decision certainly annoyed one of the players in my group!

Of course... Blade Barrier is not a solid barrier, it doesn't hinder spells at all, other than providing cover. Even creatures can freely (with some disadvantages attached ;)) pass through the barrier.

A blade barrier provides cover (+4 bonus to AC, +2 bonus on Reflex saves) against attacks made through it.

That's pretty much it.

Yep, that's what I thought too. Just goes to show, players can misinterpret just about anything, especially when their character is getting electrocuted.

I gave his cleric the +2 reflex save bonus, as per the description. It wasn't enough.
