Limited Wish, Wish and saves/attacks

One of the options with the Limited Wish spell is to make a single creature automatically hit on its next attack or take a -7 penalty on its next save. This option is not listed as allowing a save.

Wish, on the other hand, has a "Undo misfortune" option, which forces a reroll of any roll made within the last round. This option allows a save (and SR).

While the Wish option is more versatile, it seems to me that the Limited Wish option is more powerful because it doesn't allow a save. Do you agree? Also, what do you think would be an appropriate use of the Wish spell for a similar end? Maybe a -10 to the next save or an automatic critical threat? Both with no save, just like the Limited Wish option?

Thanks, in advance.

Wish can do what Limited Wish can do plus more. It should be in 3.0 DMG I think.
So what would you consider an appropriate effect when using Wish to replicate this one? The same or a higher negative/bonus?

Wish could duplicate the results of limited wish, but not in so doing improve upon it. For example, wish can duplicate a resurrection, but not improve upon it. This is a little confusing, but that does not necessarily mean you cannot create a new effect for wish, just don't say you are duplicating the limited wish. If you run wish per the RAW, then you have those limited options listed.

It should be noted that wish can change something that happened after the fact while limited wish needs to be used before the roll. Would you rather have a bonus on your next save or the option of rerolling after you've seen the result?

Using a wish to apply a penalty to a creature's save should probably work the same only at a -9 penalty instead seeing as how limited wish is a 7th level spell. Should the DM disallow using wish in this manner, you could always just use it to duplicate a 7th level spell to cast limited wish and get the -7 penalty. :)
