A brief FYI:

Troll Lord Games has not scaled back on the Castle Zagyg project. In addition to a set of 24 modules of 64-page length that detail the Town of Yggsburgh and its suburbs, the actual castle will be published in a series of four or more large boxed sets. The actual number is not yet determined, as the content material is far from complete as of now.

A special introductory publication will be released at GenCon, it being the adventure material for the environs of the castle.

Also it is planned that the first hardback reprint of the Gord books, Saga of Old City will be at the Trolls' booth, along with my card-boardgame King of England-King of France, a strategt and tactics game of the 100 Years War for 2-5 players. (Some few of you might recall playing a prototype at a con I attended, as it was designed back in the late 1980s.)

I'll email the Trolls so they can add an official new products announcement themselves.

Also, I believe Jim Ward and Tom Wham will release their new card-boardgame, Dragon Lairds at GenCon. As one of the play-testers I must say it is a most enjoyable game.

Cheers,
Gary

A brand new product is being released/sold at GenCon this year. I was a playtester for Dr. Wizard's Patented Elevation Indicator, and had a lot of fun coming up with uses for it. It's a device to (duh!) show the elevation of your character. I've used it for creatures large and small without a problem, and it really helps in solving that "how high up is the wizard anyway?" question. You can check them out at their webpage http://www.emeraldsemporium.com/Elevation_Indicators.html and no, I am not a paid shill. :)

There are quite a few releases from Fantasy Flight Games expected for Gencon The biggie is Tannhauser, an original IP boardgame with a very cool demonic+ WW1/II gone wrong theme. The link to the promo movie for this game is below and is very slick.

According to FFG's upcoming page, the releases for August include:

  • Condottiere: A game of intrigue, guile, and conquest in Renaissance Italy. Expected at FFG: August, 2007
  • Penguin: Can you find room for all your penguins on the ice floe? Reiner Knizia's delightfully simple and fiendishly addictive new game! Expected at FFG: August, 2007.

Grimm is finally coming out!! I've been waiting for that one for a while!! :D

Don't get your hopes up. From some of the folks I know at FFG, Grimm isn't that high on the list of things to get done by Gencon. If come down to Grimm or a boardgame, Grim is going to be the one pushed back.

That said, I think this is the first time they have actually said it will be released at a particular time.

The lists have been updated. Thanks, all, for your continued support. Please let me know of others as they come up, and I will add them to the master list.

With Regards,
Flynn
