List of Special Products to be released at Gen Con 2007?

Castle Whiterock looked interesting until I saw the suggested price of $99.99. My gaming bucks don't extend that far any longer. If it comes cheaper as a PDF and gets good reviews I may look into it. Yet another megaventure at the $100 price point... how much can the market absorb of these?

How many are there available all in all? I only have one book in my shelf that went for 100 dollars, and that's Ptolus.

World's Largest Dungeon was like 60, Rappan Athuk 75 or so. Can't remember seeing any 100 dollar adventures, come to think of it. So my guess is that the market can bear a few more of those. :D

And given how well Ptolus turned out, I am inclined to go for it if something shows up of apparent comparable quality and value.

I want to hear more about Whiterock before deciding if it's that product for me. (RAR, as neat as it sounded, was not.)

$100 for an adventure!? I...what?

 Well, let's break this down into manageable chunks. If it takes your party from 1st to 15th level (as it claims), there's no doubt close to at least five different adventures in there to accomplish this. So it's more like you're being forced to buy five $20 adventures, that's all. That's called rationalization. :uhoh:

On the other hand, I responded exactly the same way you did. I sure wish I had some more idea what this contained. I have no problem shelling out the money for worthwhile product, especially is it gives literal weeks/months of game play. It's just that I'm on month 6 of my "Mysteries of the Moonsea" campaign, that that WotC book set me back about $30 and we still have another 6 months to complete it. THAT's worthwhile.

If anyone has more info on this Goodman experiment, please fill us in!

Here's what I've gathered so far...

We're still finishing up the last bits and pieces, but it's looking like it will consist of four 128-page books about the dungeon, a 32-page map booklet (yes, there are that many maps!), a 64-page gazetteer, a book of player handouts, the poster map, and probably some other stuff I'm forgetting, tentatively priced at $99.99.

Also, it apparently covers characters from 1st level to 15th level.

Hope that helps,
Flynn
