Live Action Transformers Movie

It's called "motion capture". If they do as well as they did with Gollum in LotR, the effect will be just dandy.

For some reason, I'm getting images of people climbing into a Transformer and driving off....then the Transformer transforms to his robot form and blood seeps out...hmm...*goes back a few scenes on his Clerks Animated Series DVD* Maybe I've been corrupted? :D

I would sell Mark's soul to have a well done live-action Transformers movie. Get most of the original voice actors back, pump up the action, make it look semi-real and whammo we got ourselves a flick.

Hell yes. Most importantly...

Frank Welker: Megatron (and Soundwave)

Peter Cullen: Optimus Prime

Chris Latta: Starscream

But wait... Mr. Latta already passed away. :(

Unfortunately, I get the feeling that if this movie is ever made, it will suck beyond what mere words can describe.

You forgot the one important ingredient: Mark's immortal soul...

Honestly, it all depends on who is behind the wheel of the whole project.

No one's needed behind the wheel. They're robots, remember?

We already have Transformers: The Movie, the greatest "giant robot that eats planets" movie of all time. Do we really need an update? To someone who mentioned Armada, I'll bet you anything that this is the way they're going. This is going to be like a Pokemon movie, mark my words.

Although, if we're offering up Mark's eternal soul, maybe it'll be as good as Digimon: The Movie :D

No director lined up just yet. I think this is key. Tom DeSanto and Don Murphy seem (from previous work) like they 'get' these properties and can do them justice. They just need a director to pull it all together.

I mean we need some WAR here folks. I loved the TF movie, well at the very least the first half when we see Autobots getting torn to scrap and killed like never before. Prime's noble sacrifice, Starscream's inevitible demise and Metatron's transformation. They shouldn't go that route again. It would be better to do more of an origin story (which shouldn't take too long) like the beginning of the series and build on it: truly robots in disguise. :)

The Transformers should be relatively weak at the start and then grow in power over the course of the film, each side discovering what they can do and learning more about the strange planet they are on. It should also be about survival and the fight for precious resources between the 2 factions. This would easily lead to conflict.

Okay, I am WAY past geek-rant at this point so I shall stop, offer up Mark's soul again and pray to lord Grog for a plentiful bounty of live-action, Transformers goodness... ;)
