elecgraystone you just gave me a horrible thought, did they get rid of my favorite 3.5 spell modify memory? Egads, I've got to check that.
[sblock=Halford waffles about one of his favorite DMing experiences]My favorite moment of gameing occurred when one of my players met the woman he was destined to marry for the first time - they all got to ask a single question of an Ice Weird at first level and his was who will I marry.
The name he got was Sorriel Larkstongue, who they later discovered was an extremely famous bard. My player was dieing to meet her for nearly six months, lol.
They finally met in a bar while she was disguised as her own assistant and began to talk, he blurted out that he was destined to marry "her boss". When he said this she fell off her stool and quickly excused herslf, becoming suspicious he followed her into a nearby ally.
She removed her disguise and was revealed in all her 24 charisma glory. She tells him off for thinking that she is doomed to marry him, but in a sort of the lady doth protest too much way. He tells her of their quest - trying to save the Kingdom from a Machiavellian villain who they have not identified who is attempting to discredit the King and who is responsible for my players families deaths. Sorriel reveals that she works for the villain and that he is none other than the master of the player, who is a Kensai. She tells him, I must go, kisses him and then hits him with a modify memory. Thats when he figured out why I had been timing events with a stop watch...
He chased me around with a fork afterwards, good times, good times.[/sblock]
