I have a 3.0 Living Greyhawk dwarven fighter/barbarian. I need to convert him to Liv. Greyhawk 3.5. I have the 3.5 PHB, DMG & MM, but I can't open the PDF at the Living Greyhawk site to find out what changes I need to make.

Please help me with the Liv. Greyhawk specific 3.5 changes that might affect my PC.

On behalf of Narl "Twice Living" Forkbeard, I thank you.

Well, you need to print out a copy of the conversion AR and fill it out, so you need the PDF.

Try the Greyhawk Yahoo group, they should have a good copy in their File Section:

I downloaded the file from living-greyhawk.com and it opened fine. Make sure you have the most recent version of Acrobat Reader.

You could take part without access sure...most large gamedays or cons would have the paperwork you need.

Having net access just makes things a lot easier.

Thanks, Caliban. I'll try that. What's the AR?

Adventure Record. You know, the sheets you get after each session which keep track of GP and EXP.

If that isn't he question, then I'll describe this particular AR. In this case it keeps track of what magic items and classes changed. With the 3.5 conversion you keep your race, stats, and levels. You can change your class freely (ie. 4th fighter/5th rogue can become 9th fighter or 9th rogue, or stay the same). Magic items which have changed in cost can be sold or you can pay the difference.

Out of curiosity, are you not allowed to take part in Living Greyhawk if you don't have access to the net?

While I imagine there is no such rule, you would certainly have a hard time of it. You would need to know someone who did have such access.

Remember to re-read the 3.5 version of feats, since some have changed. You know, like Improved Critical doesn't stack with Keen edges anymore. Some skills are gone (Intuit Direction, for example), and you have more feats to pick from.

Also, as a dwarf, you don't have to worry about encumbrance as much as other races (no speed penalty due to medium/heavy armor or medium/heavy encumbrance, so as a dwarf with Barbarian levels, your speed is 30).

Only gnomes can changes scores (they can swap INT for CHA, due to the favored class change), so you don't have to worry about that.

You also have to fill out a new MIL (Magic Item List) and have the first 3.5 DM sign it, not just the "conversion AR" noted above. It's a headache, so try to have it all done before you show up at the game.

Good luck!

Thanks to everyone who replied. :)

It's a fairly big con (sponsored by WotC no less), so I don't think there'll be a major problem with paperwork. I'm sure they'll have what's needed.

As for magic items, the only ones I have are potions of healing that I bought. So that's not a major issue for my PC. He's magic poor. :(

Thanks again!
