Mask Boy crits with a claw for 4! Ray has 10 hp left.

Round 383: Ray ignores the gaze and stings MB for 18-5=13. He is poisoned for 3 Str & 2 Dex. He subsequently misses. MB has 11 hp, 6 Str, and 12 Dex.

Round 384: Ray is paralyzed and drops to the ground! He takes 6 points of damage from the fall and has 4 hp left.

OOC: I'm not sure what position MB wants to go when taking a step.

In his weakened state, MB CDG's for only 1 point of damage! Ray survives and has 3 hp left.

Round 385: Ray snaps out of it! Then he ignores MB's gaze and attacks wildly! He stings for 17-5=12 points of damage. MB is dying, but he is also poisoned for a record 4 damage in Str & Dex! Ray enters the Hall of Fame! :)

Next up for LN: a mercane. (Manual of the Planes) We'll switch sides.

A 12 foot tall blue-skinned humanoid in robes moves to 65N0E and misses Ray with his falchion.

OOC: Did you remember that a CDG is an automatic critical hit? If so, your rolling stinks.

Ray stings and bites until someone is dying, because, as those who study slasraths know, a slasrath has little interest in tactics. Time compression on, please.

OOC: Doesn't everybody roll 0 with 2d6-4? That's average for me!

Round 386: Ray misses. Merc fights defensively and misses.

Round 387: Ray stings for 8 and poisons Merc for 1 Str and 3 Dex. Merc misses. Merc has 44 hp, 14 Str & 12 Dex.

Round 388: Ray stings for 12 and poisons Merc for 3 Str and 1 Dex. Merc swings less cautiously and finally hits for 6. Merc has 32 hp, 11 Str & 11 Dex. Ray is dying after a valiant effort.

Round 389: Ray is defeated!

Next up for N: a huge monstrous scorpion. (MM) It goes first in round 389.

Great, I mean rats! Ray is dead.

The scorpion scuttles to 55N20E. As it values tactics as much as its predecessor, time compression appears to be the way to go -- just grab, sting, and crush.

Round 389

Merc turns invisible, but the scorpion's tremorsense tells it that he moved to 75N25E.

Round 390: The scorpion misses all three times due to Merc's invisibility! Merc becomes visible while attacking defensively, missing twice with his falchion.

Round 391: The scorpion hits Merc with a claw for 11 and pulls him into its square. Then it stings him for 9 and 2 Dex. Merc has 12 hp and 9 Dex remaining. He fails to escape twice.

Round 392: The scorpion crushes Merc for 16. Then it crushes him for another 15, just for fun.

Next up for LN: a shatjan. (Creature Catalog) It goes next in round 392 and is intimately familiar with scorpions and their abilities.

The Merc also became intimately familiar with scorpions and their abilities.

A stocky, hirsute human with a reindeer's head and wearing a loincloth comes into the arena to 60N0E. He says, "It sure is hot in here. I think I should do something about that." The temperature surrounding Blitzen immediately drops. "Oh, dear (pun intended), that scorpion looks dangerous. I better defend myself." Total defense.

Once the scorpion gets within ten feet, 5-foot step (if not grabbed) and breathe at it every round. Once grabbed, keep breathing until one of us is dead. Also, every round make the temperature drop. Time compression, please.
