Lobster Fascination*

Many people who say they are vegetarian eat seafood.

Yep, she happily eats fish and other seafood. Her primary criteria is that her food, when alive, can't have been cute.

Strangely, she also eats pepperoni on her pizza.

The thing that freaked her out about the softshell crab was that she had the entire crab to eat, including innards.

For some reason, I am reminded of this:

I would guess not; why would they feel the need to rubber-band a cooked claw? It's probably just some weird aberration the aboleths are sending out to mess with us.

Now crab... Crab is where it's at. Crab tastes good. It is one of the few foods that passes the Difficulty/Reward test. You know, those foods that taste good, but are too much frakkin' effort to eat? I mean, sure, I like oranges, but I'll be damned if I'll peel one. Oranges don't pass. Shrimp (whole in the shell) barely pass. Pistachios pass. Crab passes.

While I like lobster, I agree, crab is king. I can sit and eat snow crab at an all you can eat joint till well past stuffed. I'm also quite fond of the classic Maryland crab boil. Of course there's the fact that I'm stuck in Colorado, hmm. Ahh well, it doesn't matter. We have casinos with all you can eat snow crab.

I'm not a seafood fan. The fact the lobster is an arthropods makes me wonder what other bugs would be popular food in the future. :uhoh:

There a quite a few tasty insects around - I've tried both mealy bugs and worms and they're okay. Crickets are tasty and many bug larvae taste like peanut butter (and go well fried in garlic butter).

As for Lobster I'm not a big fan and I personally prefer crab (I do like crab),
freshwater cray is good too and I really like prawns. My personal favourite though is scallop

See, I'm weird, because crab is the one thing I've never liked. It's a texture thing, which is completely ironic considering Wulf's post about the "squeaky" texture of lobster, which I completely endorse as an adjective for it.

If you were really hungry (honest-to-God starving), I can see eating those things cooked. Raw and still squiggly, I think I'd starve first.

I don't eat enough bottom feeders....I live within 5 minutes walk of the sea though! Fish sometimes, but shrimp/crab hardly ever and lobster never.
