I will call this correct since I believe PC is thinking properly but typing backwards. It lunar cycles per month not month's per lunar cycle what is being turned are the pages of a calander (assuming a normal monthly calander).

Ah!! Ofcourse: 2+2 != 4 if you're going to calculate the adjusted Challenge Rating of a monster of challange rating 2 who has two NPC-levels instead of two PC levels

According to p. 102 from the DMG, you have to substract 1 when calculating this...

Also note that a monster with CR =3 and 1 NPC level has indeed a adjusted CR of 4 ...
