I brought questions to work from a game called Mind Trap (it is reallt slow today). I will start you with an easy one and we can go from there.

The tallow obtained by burning ten candles will yield one extra candle. If you burned 1000 candles, how many extra candles could you make?

My analysis:

100

Now, if you _burn_ those 100, you would get 10 more, and then by _burning_ the 10 you could get 1 more. The original question spicifically said how many could you get from burning 1000.

Here is another one.

Professor Qunatum was giving a lecture on "the life of Aristocracy in the 19th century." It was during a large festive gathering of nobility," began Quantum, "when a fairly common occurance took place. The Queen suddenly attacked and killed the King. The crowd watched the entire sceen and then casually continued their party. In what situation in the 19th century would a crowd be so casual about the Queen killing the King?"

Also the king never dies in chess, he is forced to admit defeat, so this may be a moot point.

Wrong, see above. Now had the question asked "how many total additional candles can be obtained from a starting stock of 1000?" the correct answer would be 111. Semantics are very important.
