Login issues

As Thar says.
No passwords were stolen. No one is logged in as someone else. It's just that they brought chat down very precipitously without the step of kicking people out first, so the listing of who is in ISRP chat still reflects those there at that time.

good deal : )

We've made some server side changes that should keep the chat from being exploitable from outside sources. We'll be monitoriing really closely, but in the mean time, it's back up... I'm REALLY sorry to have disrupted your RP folks, we really had no choice :(

Thank you very much for the update, and for the extraordinarily hard work you've put in on our behalf. Nothing is even infoulable and I commend you all for your quick diagnosis, action, and work/time to resolve it. if it were me I would have had to wipe the system and find a host of programers to tear down the code, line by line to fix the exploit. You've obviously done things much better and will much less work. again, thank you mostly kindly.

Hey folks,

I've just added a safety precaution to the chat code, I've tested it as well as I can and it shouldn't create any problems but if you see anything wierd happening with your chat, experience any turbulence or explode please report it in this thread.

Just letting you know, the Chat login window isn't coming up. High or Low res.

Hmmmm... okay I just tried both high and low from the sidebar login of this message board, and from the direct login page here: http://www.enworld.org/isrp/chat/

It's always working for me. I'm on IE 6, Windows 98, DSL, no firewall.

Which browser are you using, what sort of connection, and what platform? (I won't know what to do with that info, but Gabriel will when he's available.) And I wonder if the fixes to FlashChat mean you have to tweak your firewall or internet security protections now? You might try that.

I'm on IE 7, Windows XP, DSL connection, no firewalls. Edited to add, I'm running Adobe Flash Player 9 ActiveX... a fairly recent upgrade.

And when I go to the direct login page, I get everything but the login box... the blue background, the bar at the bottom to check descriptions (which I can do), but no login box. When I try to log in from the sidebar, same thing, the page loads with everything but the login box.

IE 7.... hmmmm.

Before you visit the chat again could you try going to Tools - Internet Options

Click "Delete Files" then "Ok"

Let me know if anything happens.
