Long Live the Queen (all groups) [Boddynock judging] Completed

Possum takes a look about the room, and then shrugs. "Sounds good to me. Lucky Horseshoe? Alright."

Possum looks around at what people are doing, and does her best to imitate it - mostly to experience the local culture and whatnot. Within an hour, she's good friends with a dozen people, having a long discussion about local sports she knows nothing about.

Lost in his thoughts Jallembo had not heard Hans before waving back, slightly embarrassed.

The journey goes on and on. Then they slow down. glad we've arrived Jallembo thinks. He had stayed quiet wondering who he would work with on this job. As the cart stops in Fallon, he leaps to the ground and checks the buildings. am I already missing home?? he thinks.

"Hey Ximix, looking forward to meeting the Queen?? Should be some sport, shouldn't it?"

OOC: sorry no PC access..

"Wow!", thought Dorrin, "this must be my ... er... lucky day! To stop at an inn called the Lucky Horseshoe, clearly it's a sign from Grendath."

Dorrin quickly dismounts, and grabs his necessary gear. He heads inside as soon as possible to check out all that the Lucky Horseshoe has to offer.

After a hard day of riding abreast of the small convoy, Jamilee's first care is for her horse; she makes sure she's well stabled, fed and watered, and personally brushes her down, checking for saddle sores. Whatever her second care might be, it's not for her own appearance; she rejoins the rest of the group late, still grimy with sweat and road-dust. She's silent up until the point of Jallembo's question, when she frowns, looks hard at the ground in front of her, and mutters "It's not sport."

Suprisingly, Ximix turns rather promptly and looks up at his companion, "I'm hoping that my experiences here will better prepare me for the storm on the horizon. It seemed like a good place to practice my skills as a combat medic, since what little I contributed to our first adventure was far from the arcane studies I had looked forward to for so long."
Quieted for a moment, the cleric resumes his usual staring at nothing, then smiles weakly at Jallembo and returns to his stew.

Saithnar spends the journey resting and observing his companions. Getting used to the ebb and flow of the minds gathered around him so that he may function better with them once they encounter action. Now if only I knew which ones would be my direct teammates so that I might focus on them more thouroughly. he thinks as the wagons pull up to the gathering of buildings for the stay overnight. Saithnar climbs out of his wagon seat and nods silently at the instructions Hans delivers. Getting his backpack from the covered wagon to take with him to his room, the red haired man looks forward to enjoying a good meal and the experience of a new place.

"I don't remember being very effective with my blades against those horrors... he he.."

He walks in the inn as well and studies the patrons briefly, a professional habit. He orders some food as well after checking what his companions had in the plates then asks to them: "Anyone ever fought these insects before? Any advice?"

"None here," Dorrin says, in between bites of food and checking for games of chance in the commons. "That's a good idea though. Do large insects have any weak points or strengths against certain weapons or magic? I'd hate to find that my spells are worthless against these beasts."

Possum grins at her companions discussing fighting tactics against ants. She pipes up "We'll do fine, I'm sure! Just don't let them swarm up on you, and you should do great. We're spiders."

Realizing no one has any idea what she's saying, she explains. "If you drop a spider, no matter how large, into an ants nest, they'll swarm it and kill it within a minute or two. But if an ant and a spider meet, one on one, the spider wins - especially if the spider's prepared."

She smiles at Dorrin. "So long as they don't outnumber us, we're safe. Okay, Spider?"

Dorrin starts laughing at Possum's analogy. "For some reason, an image just popped in my head of everyone in the Lucky Horseshoe running around in a gigantic spider web catching and eating ants."

When his humor quiets, he says, "Well, then I guess we just need to keep cutting them up until we do outnumber them. I'm really not too concerned about the ants in any case. I'm sure I'll be up in front of the battle, since Fortune favors the brave!"
