D&D 5E Looking for 5e Nentir Vale Resources

Hi all,

I'm looking at running a 5e campaign set in Nentir Vale, and I'm just wondering if anyone has any conversion notes they'd be willing to share. So far my google-fu has left me empty-handed. (I've found plenty of 5e PBP games set in Nentir Vale and a few blogs *talking* about converting Nentir Vale material to 5e, but so far I haven't been able to find any actual conversion notes or anything that will help me get things set up more quickly.)

While I'd like to run Keep on the Shadowfell, Madness at Gardmore Abbey, and possibly also Reavers of Harkenwold, I also want to run it as a bit of a sandbox. I've got the Monster Vault: Threats to the Nentir Vale book.

Anyway, if anyone's got any adventure and/or setting conversion notes that they'd be willing to share with me, please let me know!

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Jonathan

There's a "Madness at Gardmore Abbey - a fan-made conversion for D&D 5E" - available from the DMs Guild. The last 10 pages are conversions of monsters and NPCs.

The copy I downloaded shows a "Last Updated May 30, 2015", so there may be a more recent update on it.

That's the only one I know of directly.

Thanks. That looks like it will be useful for when I run that adventure. Was hoping maybe someone had had a go at updating some of the stuff from Threats to the Nentir Vale and maybe Reavers of Harkenwold.

I ran Reavers of Harkenwold in 5e. I'd give you the notes I used, except for the following.

1.) I replaced the 4e-style encounter dungeons with regular explorer dungeons, complete with restocked monsters and new traps.
2.) I ended up renaming huge swaths of it to fit my world. Most of the proper-nouns were changed, for example.

So it ended up "inspired by" and "uses some of the same maps as" RoH, but really ended up being rewritten rather than converted.

I bought all of Mike Schley's RoH maps yesterday, and afterwards I noticed that some of them didn't end up getting used in the adventure. He made more extensive versions of both the Dal Nystiere ruins and the Toadwallow caverns. They look quite cool. It's a real shame WotC opted to go with crappy little maps made from Dungeon Tiles instead.

Threats... was a decent book, but I find little purpose in trying to convert 3e or 4e, 5e just doesn't handle either's approach very well. "Inspired by," would, indeed, be the better way to go, IMHO.
"Inspired by" is fine really. I'm not necessarily looking to convert statblocks. But if someone else has done some work on making 5e versions of various things in Threats or any of the adventures, I'd love to see it.

I mean, I can make Dythan's Legion (by way of example) from scratch using 5e's tools, but it would be nice not to have to if someone else has done it already and is willing to share ...

Couldn't find it on DM's Guild either. Maybe been taken down? IIRC, Nentir Vale etc. has not been aaproved for DM's Guild. I have that conversion as well, but can't remember where I got it.
