Looking for a good feat

First Post
Hey there.

So my barbarian1/Dragon Shaman4 will soon be making it to 6th level & I'l totally stumped as to what to take for my 6th level feat.

SO anyone got any good ideas?

Current feats: Power Attack, Cleave, Focus: Greatsword.
Abilities: Str, dex & con = 14, int 12, wis, 11, cha 14.

Also - I'm trying to steer clear of Leap attack as the DM's eye's were bulging at some of the damage I was doing. He's a bit old school and I'm trying to avoid twinking my guy out too much.

I guess I'm asking if anyone knows of any good, but not too abusive feats that would add to my combat capabilities as the groups front line warrior, or if there are any feats out there that can boost my breath weapon/dragon shaman abilities?

Thanks & Happy Gaming,

Draconic Heritage feats may be somewhat redundant but stylish. Draconic Claws for example would give you a nice way of fighting in grapples or when you get disarmed.

Extra Rage sounds like a no-brainer for this type of character. 4 encounters per day are D&D standard, what do you do the other three fights after your rage is over ;)?

Edit: Str 14 plus rage and your DM is shocked? Poor old school guy ;)
What would he do with a Leap Attack orc PC with str 30 (raging + Bulls) and a twohanded weapon?

The Draconic heritage feats sound like a good one to look into? Cheers for the heads up.

Yeah I've got extra rage (forgot to write that one up) it's pretty important like you say.

He'd probably cry, or at least grumble - which is fair enough if you ask me - I'm pretty anti-twinked characters as it is.

He's a bit old school, but I like it. We're teaching his girlfriend (one of my best friends little sisters) how to play so we're trying to keep things simple - also she's playing a combat monk so I don't want to out-do her char TOO much (well I mean it IS a monk and I AM a barbarian with power attack).

By the way - I'm totally loving the Dragon Shaman class - it really does add something extra to the party! Go PHB II!!!!!

Forgive me, but I was looking at playing Dragon Shaman in my campaign at school next semester ... what makes them so great? Yeah you have a sweet breath weapon, but you still have a 3/4 attack progression. I don't know, I just didn't see anything in particular that blew me away about the class, the aura's are nice but .... *shrugs* Am I missing something?

It's one of the best defensive classes around, perhaps better than the dragonfire adept. High Con, good HD, available armors, healing aura, energy or DR auras, AoE ability for mook cleaning. For offense, all you need is Bbn1 and Extra Rage plus a str 18 in combination with a twohanded weapon.

The healing aura alone has made it so we've had no deaths in a pretty tough Shackled City campaign. With a good use magic device skill (for cure light wound wand) and the healing aura the group has had no need for a cleric.

Ability Focus (Breath Weapon) -- Monster Manual

Entangling Breath -- Races of the Dragon

Fey Heritage + Fey Skin + all the other Fey Heritage feats -- Complete Mage

Cheers, -- N
