Looking for a picture from AD&D 1e

I saw that episode, too. The host is Peter Woodward, better known as Galen on Babylon 5: Crusade, and son of Edward Woodward from the old show "The Enforcer."

I got a kick out of it, mostly because it was obvious (1) that Peter knew his way around a medieval weapon or two, and (2) that the dozen or so swordsmen that were helping on the show were snickering good-naturedly about being lectured to about weapons as if they knew nothing, all for the sake of a TV program. :)

Does anyone know if that was a one-shot show, or one of a series?

Ah, WizarDru, I thought you were talking about the images from the insert from The DM Adventure Log, not the ones from UA....

The show is a series. Seems to be appearing paired with Mail Call. Might be they only have a few shows filmed though cuz I keep catching reruns.
As for the polearms I have Best of Dragon I & II and a whole article explaining polearms and their use and their origin is found in on of those. Good article. Finally understoof what some of those polearm thingy's were. Great set of quotes from there along the lines of "a spear is simply a knife on a stick", followed by "an axe on the stick", "a hammer on a stick", "let's see what else we can put on a stick".
