Looking for a Prestige Class

First Post
Hello to anyone who can help me. I've been looking for a prestige class I think I saw in a book but I'm not sure. I don't know the name of the prestige class but the general concept behind it is an Expert who tracks down rare books and steals them.. kinda like a Book Bountyhunter. People(wizards mainly) pay these Bookhunters to find lost tomes and other rare books. I know there isn't much to go on, but I thought I saw this somewhere and if not then it's part of my imagination..

I'd like to know what book this prestige class can be found in, and perhaps the name of the class. Once again it might just be a figment of my imagination, but I could have sworn I saw this somewhere.

Thanks in advance.

The only thing close to this that I can think of is the bookhunter, from FFG's Spells & Spellcraft. It's not a PrC, though -- just a concept.

The example NPC is an expert, and the basic idea is exactly what you mentioned (someone who finds/steals books for wizards, etc.).

I read over the Prestige Classes in the Ink and Quill download but couldn't find the one I was looking for, but thank you for the help....

If the class I'm looking for does exist I pinned it more as a Rogueish type. Basically from what I can remeber Wizards or Bookcollectors would want to hire these specialist to locate and retrive Rare and Important Books for them. So, for example the Bookhunter(I don't know if that's the name of the class but I'm using it for just an example) would get sent on an adventure to fine a special text and would have to use her prestige class abilities to gather information on the location. Then if she was to locate the text in, say, a Wizards Tower she'd have to break in and steal the book. I pictured the class as a Book Bountyhunter of sorts...

Hopefully it's out there, if not I guess I'll have to put it togther myself.. and if so, any ideas on abilities?

If you are specifically thinking of finding/stealing books, then this is not the right one, but your concept sounds really close to the Tomb Raider of Olidamma (sp?) from the Song and Silence WotC book. It is essentially a rogue who acts... well... like Lara Croft.

No problem. :)

It's a neat character concept, but I'm not sure it needs to be a PrC. It seems like you could build a bookhunter with a mix of rogue, bard and perhaps sorc/wiz levels. If you do decide to develop a PrC around it, though, I'd be interested in seeing it -- and you could always post it to the House Rules forum.
