There was a book by Allan Dead Foster I read back in High School, back in 90-92. It was a SciFi Book. I can not remember the name of it. Hell right now I'm having trouble remembering some of the details. Basically a ship crash lands on a planet with Silicon based life. One person survives and, if I recall correctly, bonds with one of these silicon based life forms in such a way it saves his life. I really wish I could give more than that, but my memory is bad and I'm tired and at work. Thanks for any assistance. I've been trying to figure this out for years, but can not find it.
