Maybe I should way for AoW to come out.

That's going to be a long wait. It'll be another six months before the Dungeon series is finished. Then it has to go through the normal printing process if Pazio decides to do that.

I am still going to look more into SC though.

You won't be dissapointed.

I just started running a game using Shackled City yesterday. I had already read all the series when it came out in Dungeon magazine and was pretty excited to run it, but I decided to buy the hardcover for ease of keeping everything together over a 20 level campaign. I was not disappointed. The hardcover adds bits of extra information and ties in everything even tighter so that it's is now definitely worth of being called a D&D classic. It makes it really easy to run a campaign that has both plenty of interesting combat, traps, tricks, clever opponents, and tons of roleplaying opportunities for players that enjoy developing their characters.

It may just be me, but I've found the Shackled City open enough so that I can change some things around without having too many issues. Little additions here and there, new places to encounter other NPC's, small places to add little bits from various encounters from the WoTC line of products that come premapped, etc...

And here's my thread on it.

Yeah AoW is going to be like late 2006 or 2007 at the earliest. They still haven't gotten half way done with the path to my knowledge.

But I do agree, AoW will be a gold standard. Just I think SC can be considered planitum IMHO.

What, no one has any loving for the World's Largest Dungeon? Guess it's passed it's prime. :(

To be fair though, from what I've seen of the Shackled City, I really do have to give it the nod in terms of quality, editting and overall story. Since WLD doesn't really have an overarching story, SC wins hands down there. Granted, the fact that WLD DOESN'T have an overarching story is the reason I like it so much. I get the best of both worlds: humungous adventure with more nooks and crannies than I could ever possible want, plus open ended enough that I can customize it easily. But, that's only my very personal and biased opinion. :)

I started a thread a ways back saying that the mega-module should become the new standard for campaigns, but, it got absolutely no loving. Sigh. Nice to see that I'm not alone in thinking that though.

I am thinking about DMing a new game but lack of time to create my own world and adventures. So my questions is does anyone here use any premade adventures that players from level 1 to 20 and/or campagin settings with adventures that take players from 1 to 20.

I have looked at Mongooses Complete Campagins The Drow War. Has anyone used this product?

I am using it and I really love it. My group has been enjoying it quite a bit (at least that's what they tell me :) ) and I plan on sending them through part II. They are currently 5th level and about to get into chapter 5.

Good stuff.

...read the reviews for the Wilderlands boxed set. It's not a module, but a completely fleshed out world. You'll probably want to get the Player's Guide to it as well if you want a lot of the fluff details.

This is the way I'd go, and maybe plunk down Lost City of Barakus somewhere to get started.
