Looking for information on Hell...

First Post
I'm running an epic-level campaign (started at 1st level over 2 yeara ago) and I'm planning to run large sections of the game in Hell, involving the characters in the politics therein. I'm trying to get informaiton on the political structure of Hell, who's in league with whom, who works for who, etc. Anyone know what sources would be good for information like this? I have the Manual of the Planes, the Book of Vile Darkness, Legions of Hell, Tome of Horror (which has some interesting devils), and Planes of Law. What other sources would be good for what I'm looking for? Any suggestions and ideas would be appreciated, thanks guys! :)

I think that about covers it really. I mean you have, IMHO, four of the best sources in 3rd/d20, and one really good 2nd edition one. I doubt you can do much better than that. (Course that's just me.)

Guide to hell 2e is good too..Its on of my favorite 2e supplements...There are 2 articles by Ed Greenwood in Dragons #75 and 76# IIRC that are good too..

The Guide to Hell was OK. And yeah, it was a PS product. But *the* best book for that was Faces of Evil: The Fiends. Hellbound: The Blood War was also excellent. Both of those books have almost no mechanics, they're almost all flavor on the politics of the lower planes, escpecially Faces of Evil. Faces is, in fact, one of my favorite "flavor" products ever. I can't recommend it enough. If you want to know the politics of Hell, run - don't walk - over to SVGames.com and pick up the ESD. Or buy it off of eBay. Or something, but definitly get it.

Another place you might want to check out is the Planescape board over at Realms of Evil.net. Everyone over there is uber-helpful. Ask them a question like "what are the politics of Hell," and you're likely to get several essays in response. :)

Go find any Hivemind thread. It's pretty close. I think Piratecat has horns, but it might just be a trick of the light.

I just want to mention, the 2E Guide to Hell was NOT a Planescape product! Honestly Hardhead, I expected better of you.

Faces of Evil, which is a Planescape product, is good also. If you want more information on Geryon, the deposed archdevil mentioned in the Book of Vile Darkness web enhancement then check out the non-Planescape 2E product called A Paladin in Hell also.
