D&D 3E/3.5 Looking for Maritime combat rules

In our D&D 3.5 campaign, the game world ends up calling for a lot of seafaring. The jump off point for the campaign, and the group's base of operations, is part of a major land mass, but is bounded by nearly impassable swamps, so the only real way for the PCs to move about is by ship.

We share DM duties, and I'm running an adventure where they've signed on to a "Privateering venture", essentially joining a pirate hunter.

What's followed has been a number of ship-to-ship conflicts. The big problem is the sum total of rules in the DMG for this is one paragraph, and it says very little.

I've been winging it, and my group seems satisfied, but it would be nice if we had some actual ship-to-ship combat rules.

Any suggestions? Sources?
