Looking for some module recommendations

look for the Tortles series in Dungeon Magazine.

or N4 Treasure Hunt

or XSolo Lathan's Gold

later you might want to buy Necropolis by SS with EGG.

I looked through Isle of Dread, and realized what a goofy module that really is, although it was always one of my favorites. It has locations that the party would probably never ever get to. Like, a coral reef 5 miles off the coast, where the PCs could get pearls and fight sea snakes.

But that's what makes Isle of Dread such a great module! When the PCs get tired of doing heroic deeds, then can go dive for pearls and fight sea snakes and you've got a map and stats for it. I wish every module were as chock full of random goodies as X1. That way when the PCs do something unexpected (which they always do) you can wing it with ease.

... like the time my PCs decided to set fire to the jungle in order to flush out the dinosaurs....

You should also take a look at Dwellers of the Forbidden City. It should fit well into a campaign in a deserted island. Of course you will have to convert and adapt to your groups level.

Not a module per-se but maybe worth a look for the stranded on an unknown island: Nyambe (african style campaign setting)

I ran Isle of Dread 3e style near the very beginning of my 3e games.

in a word... it ROCKED.

Once the party got tough enough and skilled enough to handle a charging triceratops...

I hit them with a Triceratops advanced to Colossal size. 36 Hit Die Triceratops....

Triceratops: CR 7; Gargantuan Beast ; HD 36d10+324; hp 522; Init -1; Spd 30ft; AC 22; ATK Gore +32 melee; DAM Gore 4d6+13; SA Charge for double damage, trample; SQ Scent; SV - Fort +21, Ref +11, Wil +13; Str 28, Dex 9, Con 29, Int 1, Wis 12, Cha 7

When I pulled that sucker out, my daughter ran upstairs and came back down with a toy triceratops that was EXACTLY the right size on our battlemat...

The party was smart enough to run for their lives.

One module that I ran and probably had the most fun with was WG5 Mordenkainen's Fantastic Adventure. It is set on a deserted island and the story is based around King Kong! The levels are a little high, but the PC's can work up to it. However it would require converting to 3E.

I don't own very many modules, and the few I do have probably won't work too well with what I'm trying to accomplish. I've been able to find some good stuff in what I do have. I'm going to have fun going through that box of encounters that I've got. I might be able to find some worthwhile things in the Book of Lairs, as well.

I could probably pour through those modules in that encounter contest we had on here a while back. I could run all those swamp-based things.

Are those modules still on EnWorld somewhere?
