Looking for the best WotC (D&D) novels from the last 15 years.

So, I was considering checking out some novels, since its been like 15 years since I read a D&D novel.

I figured that since I play 4e, I would start with some of those, but I seem to be unable to find a comprehensive list of 4e novels. Now, I do not know if there is any difference at all to the older once, but I imagine that there must at least be some flavor differences.

So, if anyone could link me a list or tell me which books are 4e novels, I would be very happy.

Also, if anyone wants to recommend specific books (or the opposite for that matter), it would likewise be of great help.

Cheers

As far as I know, Wizards hasn't done any 4e specific novels. Some of the newer Forgotten Realms ones may incorporate the of the changes to the FR that happened in 4e, but there's nothing like the generic setting books with signature characters like there was in 3e.

'course I could be wrong on that.

Not to be snarky, but I why would you want to? Unless WotC is no longer publishing only teen fiction...

There is decent adult fantasy fiction, if you know [or ask] where to look.

I don't suppose you'd be interested in a novel being released by EN World, based on a published 4e campaign.
You could, especially if it can be acquired from amazon. Lulu is just horribly expensive and slow, if you live in Europe.

The new Drizz't novels are all 4E.
Maybe I should have specified *except Drizz't books* ;)

Because I know and have read a lot of the good (adult) fantasy fiction, and I was in the mood to try something closer to home, ie which translates better to the world I play D&D in.

Okay, so seems there is not much when it comes to 4e books. I will change the title of the thread and restate it here.

Has there been any decent (D&D) novels published by WotC in the last 15 years? If so, which are they?

Anything by either Elaine Cunningham or Paul Kemp, especially Elaine's 'Wizard War' trilogy set in Halruaa, and Kemp's 'Erevis Cale' series of books. Likewise the DL books by Weiss and Hickman have always been enjoyable.

There has been some drama in WotC's novel department since 4e. Kemp has parted ways with WotC and a planned trilogy of his was cancelled, and they canned the final novel in one of Elaine's series however, which I'm still trying to figure out. And the last book by Weiss and Hickman, "Dragons of an Hourglass Mage" we weren't sure if it was coming out, with rumors about WotC cancelling it and refusing to even accept the manuscript, and then finally taking it and it was finally released late in 2009.
