Ok a read a feat at some point in my vast collection of D&D books and now I have no idea what it is called or what book it is in… but I need it.

The feat lets you replace your strength modifier with your dexterity modifier damage rolls with melee weapons.

I thought it was in a WoTC book but I might be wrong... any help would be great!

I cant think of any books that allow you to use your DEX mod for melee damage instead of STR mod. Plenty of DEX based feats to improve ones attack roll but not damage roll.

You might have seen it as a feat, skill, or combat action from some books variant rules for Called Shots maybe? I remember there being a couple books with stuff like that. Also look at your books that have prestige classes for brawlers, bodyguards, swashbucklers, or fencers; if any book has feats or class traits that allow DEX to effect damage in melee it would be one of these.

Now that you have brought it up I bet I'll spend the rest of the day digging thru my books and calling people in my local playgroup to dig around in theirs books :p ;) I bet you misremembered it as a feat and it will end up being a class or race trait or some kind of full round combat action.

If I dig up anything I'll post again.

I know that in The Hamlet of Thumble they have a feat called Dexteritous Strike. It does just that.

I happen to have just finished reading Thumble, and you're correct. The title of the feat is Weapon Precision, and it does indeed let you use Dex mods instead of Str mods for one weapon.
