EDIT: I'll also second Reclaiming Blingdenstone as a good little adventure for "beer, bourbon, and pretzels" play.

Yeah but I'm not the biggest fan of the adventure path concept. We are a beer, bourbon and pretzels group so site based stuff tends to work better than long sprawling plots. I found out I had a PDF of night below that I must have came across a long time ago. Seems like its kind of a 2E AP so not totally sure about that.

I have got two players who are big FR novel fans and I want to throw some drow, derro, mind flayes, and that lot at them.

You might want to reconsider that stance, or at least give Out of the Abyss a look when it comes out.

First, you've got FR fans as players and Out of the Abyss has FR ties galore.

Second, everything I've seen about this adventure seems like they've taken a different approach from the last APs. Point in case:

The Escapist said:
Of course, we already know that Out of the Abyss has characters topping out at somewhere in the mid-teens of power level. How will the characters deal with these threats? I asked Perkins. I did not get the answer I expected. "It would be madness for the adventurers to take on Orcus in a straight-up fight," he said. "Fortunately, Out of the Abyss gives characters the chance to amass a small army and also turn the demon lords against one another, thus weakening them. There are also a couple other ways to banish the demon lords back to the Abyss, which is the party's ultimate goal."
