Yeah, I'm finding it difficult to understand this 3.0 book, and I was hoping someone might know if there are easier to understand rules out there among the many OGL supplements, or if there was a 3.5 update of any kind?

What are you finding difficult? We have used it pretty much as is for our 3.5 game without issue. If you could be a little more specific? Apart from how expensive building stone walls is, I can't think of any problems off hand that you might be having.

I'm having trouble figuring out how to repair buildings. My Dm has us repairing an old keep, and told the rules are in the S.H.B. Guide. I don't see where for one, also there are a lot of modifers that make me apprensive so I was hoping some company had hopefully stream lined the process.

It is fairly detailed. I don't have the book on me at the moment - I'm currently at work - but I would imagine asking the DM:

1) What parts of the keep are structurally sound?
2) What parts of the keep can be salvaged?
3) What parts need to be rebuilt from scratch?

The only confusion is if there is a lot of 2). He might rule that there are no material costs for stuff that can be salvaged or is at half cost - does the SBG mention this? I can't remember off hand. I'll bring the book in tomorrow and answer more thoroughly if no one else has.
