Trailer Lord of the Rings anime coming this December: War of the Rohirrim

Well, I consider that Tolkien deserves WAY more credit than PJ regarding Middle-earth, especially on a story that PJ had nothing to do and is based directly upon the work of Tolkien.
Where credits show up, in what order, and how big they are, are all negotiated by the various unions for directors, producers, actors, etc. I think the Producers Guild of America would throw a fit if Jackson wasn't credited how and where he was.

I was only mostly joking about Tolkien, who died before any of this was a thing.

And just to be clear, I despise the PJ "adaptations" of my favorite book of all time 😉
Okay.

I doubt anyone is thinking these films adapt stories by Peter Jackson. It's pretty gosh darn common knowledge that Tolkien wrote the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings.

Nah. Too long, excessive descriptions, lots of silly poetry, makes a fuss about made-up languages and has a weird fetish with appendices. Also, what's the deal with that Bombadill guy?
They should have got a proper writer to do them, not some obscure scholar. RA Salvatore would have done a great job, or Joe Abercrombie.*

(Seriously, I'd give a kidney to read Joe Abercrombie's novelisation of the Lord of the Rings.)

I've think only seen the abridged version of the Hobbit novelisation, with two thirds of the scenes left out. Or is that the official novelisation?
That's even worse! It's terrible, just terrible. He made a short children book out of the three movies! He even cut the love story between Tauriel (who doesn't even appear in the book at all) and Kili. Can you imagine?
