Lord Ogglebottoms Odd Tasks: All in a Nights Work (DM: DMDanW, Judge: Renau1g)

Gellan watches the two crossbow bolts slam into his new comrade, and a red haze begins to fill his vision. "Enough with mercy, enough with restraint! You shall all die!" He dashes forward with blades flashing, leaving two of the hapless humans lying in a pool of their own blood.

"I don't fear death, do you?" A bestial anger seems to fill his eyes as he charges toward the dwarf. He passes by a goon and deflect the blow with his shield and then push aside the second goon in his path with his sword, killing it.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Minor: Blood Fury Longsword (I'm considered bloodied UEoNT)
Minor: Longtooth Shifting (+2 damage and Regen 2 while Bloodied)
Standard: Charge (Ardent Vow) at Human[K18] (1d20+10=28, 1d8+7=13) Hit and killed. End his movement at K19.

AoO Human[K21] (1d20+6=20) Barely miss![/SBLOCK]

[sblock=OOC for DM & Minharath] Did Minharath get to take her delayed action when the first enemy (dwarf) attacked? If so, the dwarf may be affected by Astral Seal. [/sblock]
[sblock=OOC for Gloom] Darn, just missed your post by 15 min to cover your advance. [/sblock]

Thorn rushes forward to help clear the way. But the human sees him coming and side-steps his thrusting spear. But Thorn keeps a watchful eye on his foe in case he diverts his attention to his comrades.

[sblock=Actions]
Move Action move to J22
Standard Action attack with Sure Strike (at will). 1d20+9 (vs. AC)=12...a miss.
Free combat challenge the human in K21. This marks him. He gets -2 to attacks not including you. Make basic melee attack against adjacent marked foe who shifts or makes attack not including you. Mark lasts until end of your next turn or marked by other.

So, IF the human at K21 attempts to use an OA, I'll take an Immediate Interupt using my combat challenge.

[sblock=Gloom]If you tell me ahead of time who you will be attacking this round, I'll Astral Seal him first, to fix up those wayward hit points.[/sblock]

[SBLOCK=Tomalak]I've already act this round, but I'll tell you next round who I will attack. Probably the dwarf or the big human.[/SBLOCK]

[sblock=ooc]Huh, didn't see all those posts when I made mine. musta missed something.

Don't worry about it though. Minharath's too shocked by the barbaric waste of life to do anything. Next turn, he might even retch in horror. ;P[/sblock]

Zharne wildshapes rushes to Thorn's side then he jumps between the human and the shifter, he succeeds in dodging the thugs blow in which Thorn sees an opening in the thug's defense and attacks but misses then the transformed elf lands and use the crate's side to launch him towards the other human on Thorn's right side, Zharne then viciously attacks and kills the human which bloodies Zharne's fur.

[sblock=Minharath's Held Action]
Did Minharath get to take his delayed action when the first enemy (dwarf) attacked? If so, the dwarf may be affected by Astral Seal.

No, Minharath was unable to use Astral seal as his readied action for 2 reasons.
#1 - Astral seal has a range of 5, which did not even reach any of the PCs, never mind any of the enemies.
#2 - I stated that Gloom pushed open the door in front of him (J28/29) and moved in. The other door (K28/29) remained closed and no one has mentioned that they were pushing open the other door. Minharath is standing in K32, and from that vantage point could only partally see Thorn and no one else, so he did not even see the attack or have any sort of line of sight or effect.
[/sblock]

So now I am just waiting for an action from Minharath and then the remaining humans and Orcs can go.

[sblock=ooc]I beg your pardon if I wasn't paying attention, but why is Minharath waaaaay back there? I thought I said he was keeping up with the back of the party? Also, when Gloom opened the door, I would assume both doors got opened. That's the way double doors where I come from work; in pairs.

EDIT: I confess, I didn't look much at the map, and made certain assumptions. If it is not feasible that Minharath saw what was going on, then he will move close enough to see the entire scene on his action this turn. However, if I readied an action based on a trigger I wouldn't be able to see, why didn't you say something? Anyway, unless he has to get closer to see the bloodbath, Minharath isn't taking significant actions this turn. Several people were just murdered in front of him, and he's a highbrow pacifist. His mind isn't processing as normal at the moment. So you can continue with the turn.

In the DM's defence, while double-doors could have both been kicked open (that does seem like Gloom's style), he is a trained fighter who spotted men with loaded crossbows. He probably would have only kicked-in 1 door and left the other closed so the "squishy's" had some cover...
I'm sure if the bad-guys had readied-actions to pepper us with bolts as the door(s) opened, we would have screemed for that cover.
