Lord Ogglebottoms Odd Tasks: All in a Nights Work (DM: DMDanW, Judge: Renau1g)

Gloom follow the man. He keep a good distance, as he is not very subtle man, but from his position, he tries to anticipate the bearded man path and actions by looking at his behavior: how he walk, where he is looking at.

Thorn knows he'll never be able to stalk this prey on the city streets, wearing this heavy armour and with no forest leaves to hide him.

So Thorn decides to use the buildings as cover. Climbing and jumping from rooftops like he would trees in his forest. He peeks at his prey through the alley, then goes one street over and runs parallel for one block, only to sight his prey down the next alley before repeating the process. He has to run twice the distance to accomplish this, but his legs are strong from years of running through the forest.

[SBLOCK=Skill Challenge#2]1d20+11(Athletics)=27[/SBLOCK]

Jehad realizes that stealth would be more preferable here than strength or ambush and nearly melts into the shadow of the nearby buildings. Slowly and quietly stalking his prey until he finds the moment to strike.

[sblock=OOC] 23 stealth check and because I belive that this will end in a fight please do not forget Jehad now has a 5 resistance to posion (Wild Soul)[/sblock]

Gellan tries to keep up through the unfamiliar streets. Making sure that he can see both Gloom and the bearded man, he slips ahead to wait at a fruit-seller's cart as the man passes by. Gellan listens to the haggling of the vendor with one ear while hoping to catch the man talking to himself.

Gloom follows the man. He keeps a good distance, as he is not a very subtle man, but from his position, he tries to anticipate the bearded man path and actions by looking at his behavior: how he walks, where he is looking at. It is obvious that the man is heading straight down this street, towards the warehouse section of the wharf.

He peeks at his prey through the alley, then goes one street over and runs parallel for one block, only to sight his prey down the next alley before repeating the process. Thorn manages to pace his prey, catching glimpses of him every so often, but is a block away from where the others are.

Gellan listens to the haggling of the vendor and gets caught up in the dealing so much so that he does not see the man walk past.

[sblock=Update]
- Gloom successfully uses Insight to determine where the man will most likely be heading to. * No furhter Sucesses can be gained from Insight for this challenge. *

- Thorn successfully uses Athletics to run a parallel course one street over. He will need to make a DC 15 perception check at the beginning of the next turn if he wants to use athletics again (to keep the man in your sights).

- Jehad successfully uses Stealth to remain out of sight while trailing the man.

- Gellan Failed on his Perception check and was too busy listening to the fruit vendor to notice the man walk by.

That leaves Zharne and Minharath to go. So far you have made 4 out of 6 successess and have 1 out of 4 failures.

could you possibly include the information regarding the poison resistance in your stat block. I'll try and remember it as well, but having it in more than one place can't hurt.)

[sblock=waiting on Zharne and Minharath]
Alright we are still waiting on Zharne and Minharath to take their actions, but since it has almost been 2 days now I'm thinking that if they do not post an action by 6:00pm GMT then either their characters will be NPC'd. If any other player would like to NPC one of them that would great. (PS I always have treats for players who do nice things like that..)

[sblock=OOC]TBH, I'm blanking on any way to flavor a useful action. I'd hate to just say "I roll <skill>, but aside from Insight (my key skill), I haven't been able to come up with anything appropriate to both the situation and the character. It might be because skulking through the streets following an ill-groomed thug is so against the grain for the character as I imagine him. I'll post something if I think of it, but if I am the last one with nothing posted, assume Minharath simply follows doggedly, paying careful attention to the position of his allies in case of danger; i.e. no action.[/sblock]

I see you are a cleric and your diplomacy & religion skills are high. Why not try some "street preaching". Follow the crowd (specifically the bearded man) preaching about the salvation for your god. It is not subtle and you'll be noticed, but if you pull it off, you won't be suspected as hostile.[/sblock]

Zharne also follows the fleeing man but he happens to spot Gellan being delayed by a fruit so he walks up to the fruit cart and says, "are you buying rotten vegetables, Gellan?" and while zharne is berated by the upset vendor he rubs his shoulder with his hand while having extended two fingers on the hand doing the rubbing, hinting to the halfling the direction of their prey while ignoring the vendor completely.

[sblock=Action Details]
Aid Another:Perception: 1d20+11 → [5,11] = (16)

Also as Zharne is nearby Gellan, Gellan gains +1 to his perception check
