Lords of Madness Art Gallery

Crabapple's gas spore was pretty fitting. ;)

but since his art was not featured as prominently as the others, it didn't really stand out to me.

Crabapple did fine this time around. I agree that his humanoids leave...something to be desired. I mean, it's obviously a style choice. I wouldn't like humanoids designed by the dude who did Aeon Flux and Reign the Conqueror either. :p

I did really like the Neogi in general and the tree-beholder in particular. Something about the mouth on these things just have to make me shudder to think of it going into some hapless victim. In a good way.

Precisely. His style seems somehow appropriate for creatures that are supposed to look like half-melted entities from beyond.

Thanks for the link. Personally, I was impressed with the art as it seems to fit the style, mood and feel of a product all about insanly evil creatures with alien motives.

This is a really cool looking battle scene:

Spencer rules. :)

Some of Ron's best work is in Werewolf and if you can find it, the old Talislanta stuff. Man, he really made some creepy monsters for that world.

Once again, Chuck Lukacs decides that a D&D book is the appropriate place to make a political statement:

Oh, and one of the Mind Flayers wears a sash naming him RUMSFELD later in the book.

I thought this crap would have stopped after Races of Destiny, but I guess not.

Whatever.

The runes are absent from the book, so I guess someone noticed it.

Same, absent from the book.
I wonder if WotC deleted it for the book, or what the story is.
