We don't know that. He could have seen himself build the lightening rod in the future
So, asking Chaire to move and dealing with Charlie was the attempt to change the future and the building was what he saw? Seems around about.

I understand since the show in the past two seasons has shown itself to be logical.

we don't even know he's seeing the future or what going on with it. It's completely random and makes no sense. So, like most other things in the show.

I think he knew lightning would strike the hut and wanted them out of there. And when they did not pack up and move he came up with the lighting rod solution. Also doesn't seem like he knows the future, it seems more like he gets a glimpse of it at certain times. Like Hurley said Deja Vu

They are saying we will learn something in the next two episodes. But we've heard that befiore. I just like that it seems we are getting more of the monster.

Yes we learn that there is a tribe of circus clowns living in one of the hatches. The Others don't mess with them because thousands can come pouring out of the hatch (which can only hold only 10 normals) if they are disturbed.

Desmond can see the future. He made a lightning rod so the lighning would hit it and not Claire's house.

This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Of course I am sure you are right, which makes the show terrible.

Man that is stupid.

There are plenty of shows on TV that are stupid that people watch.

Yeah, for example, I was at my gf's house helping her parents set up a new HDTV and we got it going just in time to catch the end of "Dancing with the Stars". Her mom kept asking me if I had seen Emmitt Smith dance the night before. I had a difficult time believing that anyone watched that show, and here her mom was thinking that I would watch it.

If you knew me, you would know that I would NEVER, EVER, watch something like that.

And if the post above Crothy's was directed at me, yes, I do watch the show, even though I have some problems with what they do on the show. Very rarely have I ever watched a show that I thought was even close to perfect, and the ones that come to mind were all comedies, not dramas mired in implausibility and mixed up facts. Not to mention drawn out plots that basically go away with no explanation.

I enjoy the show, but I can think something is stupid about it.
