Lost - "Left Behind" - 04/04/07 (Spoilers)

I figure the Others went back to where they had the cages on the other island. Afterall, they burned the Losties sailboat, didn't they? It's not like they can get back there.

I don't believe the Others went anywhere. Two weeks ago, we saw that they probably had some sort of tunnels/bunkers under the village, and we never actually saw them leaving. So, I reckon they're down there to make the Losties think they've gone. A couple of days on, and they'll go back to normal.

Juliette is a plant. The episode dealt with Kate's dealings with con-women. And, in fact, Juliette even tells Kate that she's being had, "Ben is really fond of mind-games" (or words to that effect). What's more, the Others even anticipated that the Losties would assume they were being played, so they had Juliette 'reveal' her ruse with the key to escape the monster.

They've also got a running jeep that they could make runs for Dharma supply pickups with.

I don't think there will be any more supples. When they were in the Flame, one of the options Locke saw was to request a supply dump. He then proceeded to blow up the Flame.

...the Sawyer As Leader thing...

Sawyer isn't the leader... Hurley is. He just knows that the Losties don't take him seriously, because he's rotund and annoying. So, he needs someone to act as a figurehead. And, since the pressing need is for morale, he arranges for Sawyer to become the 'temporary leader' and solve the morale problem all in one go. Genius, really.

They also made a point of noting that the Flame's communication equipment was non-functional, so I'm not sure a supply dump request would have mattered had it come from there. Not to mention that if that is the reason they have been getting supplies (requests from the Flame), then that means the Others have been responsible for them getting Dharma drops all this time, which doesn't quite add up to me.

I think the drops are a standard operation, and the request from the Flame would be for emergencies or something (missed drops, etc.). Then again, I kind of doubt it will be touched on one way or another.

My understanding was that the comms equipment went down when the hatch imploded at the end of the second season. I might, of course, be wrong about that.

I'm only aware of the one drop, during the episode in which Locke got himself trapped in the hatch. (I believe the episode was, in fact, called "Lockdown".) Again, I may be wrong.

Jack is still the leader. Hurley is an able spokesman and go between for the "leaders" (main cast) and other survivors (the rest).

Nope, you're right about that. I'd forgotten they mentioned that as the cause.

That's the only one they've shown, but I'm near certain they've mentioned that the drops have become a regular occurrence. Of course, I was wrong about the comm system, so I could be wrong about the drops, too. :(

I don't think they've been getting drops. I remember a recent conversation about rationing food and no ones made mention of another drop. Frequent drops would bring a new dynamic to the show.

After a bit of research into things, what I was remembering was a bit by Alvar Hanso in a video in the ARG "The Lost Experience", where he mentions that food drops will occur regularly and in perpetuity on the island.

Exactly how much of the game is considered canon with the show I'm not entirely clear (though they seem to be pretty much keeping everything outside the show as part of the show's canon from what I can tell).

It could still be canon, but i think the food drops were caused by the hatch stuff. Now that the hatch is gone, there's no way to call for more drops.

Due to irregular work schedules, my VCR being stupid, and a vacation (Cancun! Woohoo!) I've missed the last 4 episodes. I have no idea what's going on. Oh well.
