Lost on an Island question

I'd take Tri-Stat DX with me. After all, on the back it says: "The ideal companion if you're going to be stuck on a desert island and can only bring one roleplating book with you." :)

It would also include in the equipment section the "Super Radio" which has batteries that never run out and can clearly receive signals at incredible distances.

They ran out once. the Professor recharged them with a coconut.

No, I'm not kidding.

Sorry for the hijack. :D

That was good, you almost made me spew water all over my monitor. Let's see, you'd have classes for the Skipper, Professor, Movie Star, Millionaire, Millionaire's wife, and Farm Girl. It would be manditory for the GM to run an NPC in every game known as the "Inept Seaman" and it would be the purpose of that NPC to foil the escape plans of the party. It would also include in the equipment section the "Super Radio" which has batteries that never run out and can clearly receive signals at incredible distances. In a futuristic campaign it could be an XM radio with a nuclear battery. :D
What's scary about this is how well it maps to d20 Modern classes:

Professor = Academic Field Scientist
Ginger = Dilettante Personality
Mr. & Mrs. Howell = Dilettante Charismatics
Mary Ann = Rural Dedicated
Skipper = Military(?) Strong/Tough
Gilligan = Military(?) ... Umm... Fast?

Ok, so it's not perfect :)

On topic, I'd bring the HERO system book. The math alone would keep us busy :)

It doesn't really matter too much to me... I'd take the 3.5e PHB, but when you're stuck on an island and waiting for rescue, there's plenty of time to design your own system. On paper made out of coconut trees.

Three-way tie between either the BESM Tri-Stat book (second edition, non-revised), BESM d20, or the Dark*Matter Campaign Setting (best campaign setting ever!). Any one of those three would be enough, for me at least.
