What are you talking about. Miles is hilariously crass. Don't you just want someone to smack him? It's great.

All the new people are good. Hell, I originally fell in love with the show mostly because of the flashbacks, and the mysteries of who these people were. Things got weak when, well, we knew everything about the characters. The best episodes were the ones with flashbacks of new characters.

Generally, each character could eke out two good flashback episodes. One told you who they were but left you curious about more. The other expanded on the first flashback and gave you a twist. If the character was really intriguing, you could get a third flashback out of them to show they had more depth to their character.

Pretty much everyone's 1st season flashbacks were good. Likewise, whenever a new character was introduced, they got two flashbacks that were good. After that, most of the flashbacks became redundant.

Only Locke managed to stay interesting through 5 flashbacks. Holy crap, he's in a wheelchair. Holy crap, his dad stole his kidney. Aww, not fair, he's depressed and trying to get answers from his dad. Aww, now his dad's gone and ruined his relationship with the woman he was about to marry. (Then there's the crappy flashback with him in the drug commune.) And then his dad throws him out of a WINDOW! Awesome!

Hurley's flashbacks are mostly awesome. He's rich and got numbers, he's got an imaginary friend, (but we don't care too much about the fact his friends after the awesome moment when Mr. Cluck gets hit by a meteor), and his dad is Cheech Frikkin' Marin!

So new characters means new mysteries -- except in this case, the mysteries are answered quickly, instead of lingering for a season.

I think I was pretty clear in what I was talking about. :\

Think "murder outright", and you'd be closer.

The best episodes were the ones with flashbacks of new characters.
The best episodes are those involving the island, Hanso Foundation, Dharma, and their mysteries (and answering them).

I really like the "Freighter Four". With the exception of Mr. Eko, they are all far more entertaining than any of the Tailies.

That poor man has been beaten, shot, humiliated, organ-harvested, and even defenestrated. If it's in the condition summary, Locke has probably survived it. :p

This much, I agree with (but then, for me, that's not saying much). [But I do have a soft spot for Rose's husband, what's-his-face.]

Yeah, Bernhard is likable. If only he didn't keep phasing in and out of the show.

You must be watching a different show, because I have yet to see an episode that really has any answers on these organizations.

Well, obviously I was wrong about Ben-in-the-box. So, the only other person I can think of who noone would attend the funeral of is Locke. (Actually my first choice.) Which warms my heart, because as much as I would like for him to DIE, I realize he's to important to the story at this point.

So, Jack wants to go back, Hurley is being called back (it seems), and Sayid is appearently killing people who have some connection to the island for Ben. Only Kate seems to have gotten away 'unscarred'.

Remaining Oceanic 6? Saywer and Michael. Alternatly Sun.

Edit: Duh, if it is Locke-in-the-box (Or any other survivor for that matter.) that would make him the fifth. Leaving only one un-accounted for. Gotta go with Sawyer.

Not saying one way or another, but we do not yet know how the timelines of the various flashback sequences intermix.
