Lost to return early?

Good news for Lost fans if true.

A few weeks back we were ahead of the pack with news of Day Break's unceremonious ejection from ABC's broadcast calendar. Well, we're at it again with buzz of mammoth proportions. Apparently, amid fears that the ongoing string of critically challenged replacements will bury ABC's chances of regaining its Wednesday footing, execs at the alphabet network have dropped in on the LOST crew with the following proposition: how much money do you need to get LOST on the air early....
This would be huge news for LOST fans who are still spasming over a dread seven weeks with no new material. For sure the move would generate humongous buzz for the network which is still reeling from what is considered a series of bad mistakes over its once dominate Wednesday night line up.

If it is done, LOST would return January 10th or January 17th, three to four weeks earlier then previously expected. The dependent factor is whether or not the production can be rounded out in time so that the series does not miss a week. The cost for beefing up LOST's post production temporarily seems well worth saving some face with a jaded fan base. Such a move could very well make ABC the most fan-friendly network out there.

But they were to return without interruption, wonder if that would stay in play.
Pretty sure that's what "The dependent factor is whether or not the production can be rounded out in time so that the series does not miss a week" refers to.

...so bonus episodes? That would be cool. I've been watching the number of new episodes decline year after year, so having more than 22 or 24 would be great. But if they aren't already planning on this then I'm worried that we might get crappy filler episodes.

But overall, the sooner Lost comes back the happier I am.

In a related news, the rented house that Evangeline Lilly stayed with two other housemates have been engulfed in a fire. HFD ruled the cause of the fire due to electrical failure.

Luckily, they weren't home when the fire happened.

According to this (more at the link): http://www.honoluluadvertiser.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061221/NEWS13/612210337/1024/NEWS
"Lost" was filming at Waialua Beach yesterday morning and one of Lilly's roommates, who works on the set, returned briefly to the home after the flames were out. She assured firefighters Lilly was safe, but declined further comment.

The cast of "Lost" was scheduled to break for Christmas today.

So hopefully they will have episodes ready soon.
