LOST - Wednesday 11/23/05 {Spoilers for this ep and previous eps ONLY!}

I thought it was pretty good, the ending scene with Bernard and Rose finally finding each other made me get all teary. AL really has some skeletons in her closet it seems. It was good to see Jack and the crew having fun with the Golf Hurley setup, and I'm glad the story is shifting back to the original survivors again. The show needs to concentrate more on the original characters that got me hooked on the show in the first place.

Oh, Lost is so cruel. Makes me happy by killing off Shannon, only to kick me in the face by having Ana Lucia. (She has got to go.)

Liked seeing more of the bunker, and enjoyed the reunion of Bernard and Rose. The doctor/golf quip was also a nice touch.

the timer in the bunker going down to zero!
Yes, indeed it did! Next episode does look quite good.

Yes, it showed a lot more......seems like lots of revelations, unless they pull a bait and switch..

WEll, we know that's never going to happen. This show never does that to us...ever..... :\

You know, I have nothing against being selective in what they show in next week's previews to build suspense, but this thing they do with the Lost previews is just completely absurd.

I'm referring to their repeated tendency (actually, they do it for Invasion as well, so I guess it's more of a network thing) to put together preview scenes out of order and out of context, that makes it look like what's going to happen is completely different from what in fact does happen... Which is sort of redundant, and doubly irritating, on a show like Lost.

Two things I noticed that perhaps someone who paid more attention may be able to clarify/correct...

1) When Locke was doing the crossword puzzle (right before Eku walked in with Sawyer)... didn't the clue he was answering read "Who is Eku's best friend" and the answer being gilgamesh (sp?) - did i read this right?

2) When Locke and Eku were talking, Locke is reciting back to Eku "So there are five surivors with you?" And Eku corrects him, "No, there are four with me" -- did I hear that right? Aren't there only three with him? Or did they not say "with me" and instead said something else like "including me" ?

1) Yes that is correct but spellign was Enkidu, but only EKU were given (I think that was it): http://www.wsu.edu/~dee/MESO/GILG.HTM
2) It was so there are five of you, no four. Of the ones that made it back from the tail-enders: Eku, AL, Libby, and Benard, Cindy got taken.

Point me to a show that doesn't do that, though- it's standard practice nowadays. Heck, they even do it on previews for Judge Judy, where they make it seem like one person is getting harangued by the judge, only to have the actual show turn out quite a bit different.

It may be deceiving, but it's pretty much current MO for every show that has previews.
